so i think i am an ok runner, in 7th grade for 2 miles i ran 11:54, 1500 5:09, and 800 around 2:30. lately, i havent been doing good at all and have been screwing up in all my races. i dont know why this has been happening, but i dont think i know how to push myself to the next level and become a better runner. I need advice on how to push my self and to stop screwing up? thank u so much. - You Know You Run Cross Country When...

Okay, first step back and calm down for a bit. You’re only in 7th grade! Those are great times for being so young! And sometimes people get into funks. You might be either training too hard and your body needs a rest, or you aren’t training enough. It depends on how your body feels. You also should try doing practice races by yourself, it really helps!

Do you have a coach or someone to talk to? They would be the most helpful since they know how you’ve been running and what you could do better!

If not try talking to your local high school track/cross country coach, or try finding a personal coach in your area!
